Making Decisions – Reading Response

WALA : Different type of stories

Hello

This weeks Reading Response is sadly my last Reading Response I’m going to do in Primary, this would probably be one of my last blog posts I’ll be posting until I’m leaving, but i sure do hold many memories in Primary and the things I’ve learnt for the past few years in this school, but back to my Reading Response, there were a total of 3 books I’ve had to read, 2 of them were stories, and one was a poem about a girl, every time we read a book that had to do with our Reading Response, we would have to write facts about the story we read and answer the questions that the slides give us, the last three or two slides we had to compare all the stories and write down the differences about those three stories we’ve read about.

The challenges I faced while doing this Reading Response was trying to answer the questions because I didn’t read the story properly, another one was trying to do a activity about the poem, but I overcame them by reading the story properly and getting some help from my classmates, this Reading Response was by far the hardest to finish, and it took me about 2 weeks or so, but they were fun to read about and the questions were interesting that it gave me a minute to answer, overall these were a very interesting experience and here are the slides, if you have any questions or suggestions about the Reading Response, make sure to ask or tell me when you comment ⬇ .

Thank you, and I hope you have a good day

And always remember that Jesus loves you ❤‍🔥

Christmas At The Pa – 2024

Kia Ora

Yesterday was a big and exciting event for many schools to preform in front of many people, and my school was one of them, every year there is a massive event that happens at our local Marae ( The Papakura Marae ) and a bunch of schools and dance groups preform in front of everyone, the stage is a big truck and its covered with black cloth, it was so fun and exciting, it was also very enjoyable because we got to get free food and free sausage sizzles, there were many rides there, and fun activities to participate in, my favourite part of going to the Pa is when we got to preform a Pasifika dance in front of everyone, and how my group and I are representing our school, before I tell you more, lets rewind when we started practising.

So the senior school got split up into 2 groups, we got to pick either Pasifika, or Kapa Haka, most of the seniors went to Kapa Haka, the two groups basically practised everyday, and we all made sure we all knew the moves properly, we practised and practised until it was time to preform in front of everyone at the Pa, once the groups all got dressed we all lined up and the seniors had to hold hands with the juniors so that it would be easier for the teachers to not worry about their students, once we finished, we took a couple of photos to cherish and to use for prize giving.

When we arrived to the Pa, my group and I felt very nervous and to be very honest I was a bit anxious, those were some challenges that I faced,  but I overcame them with the encouragement from the audience and from my schoolmates, hearing them chear for us made me confident and very grateful, because without them I wouldn’t be up there preforming in front of people, and yeah, overall that I have some images of the two groups ( Pasifika & Kapa Haka ) and if you have any questions about our experience or suggestions for my blog, please tell/ask me when you comment, thank you for taking your time reading my blog and I hope you have a good day.

And always remember that Jesus loves you❤‍🔥 .

KPMG – Gift Giving

Assalamualaikum

Yesterday KPMG decided to come to our school and give out free presents, it all started when my classmates and I got told to pick a present under $30 or $25, I don’t remember, but yeah we got told to pick anything we wanted from any shops we wanted, but they had to be in New Zealand obviously, the shop I decided to shop at was either k-mart or temu, I can’t remember, I chose to get headphones, they weren’t just ordinary headphones, the headphones I got were voice cancelling headphones, what I mean by this is when you put on the headphones, you won’t hear anything, even when you play music, the colour is all black and plain.

There were so many KPMG members that came and gave out our presents, each class got called up to stand and go to their own classrooms with their presents, and once we were in our class, the members of KPMG would call our name and hand our Christmas present, my favourite part of getting my present was opening it, some people in my class got LED’s, some got rugby balls, others got speakers, and some got slime and toys, but yeah, after opening them my teacher told us to bring our bags into the classroom in case someone steals our presents, after that we got to play with our presents and use them for a little while till the bell rang, I decided to go play with my cousin while half of the class were listening to music, yeah I think that’s all we did.

I hope you have a good day

And always remember that Jesus loves you ❤‍🔥.

Summer Learning Journey

Ni hao

As we all know by now, this is the second to last week of school, and our teachers would want us to do homework over the holidays so that we don’t loose our wisdom and maybe it could even help us keep on track, The Summer Learning Journey is a site where kids could do homework over the holidays, its basically normal homework but you do it on the holidays instead of the week days, we got told whoever did homework over the holidays would get a certificate when 2025 starts, even when your in high-school or intermediate, to be very honest I would try to use Summer Learning Journey so that I can stay on track and make my family proud, especially God.

In my opinion, Summer learning Journey is something that could help you if your ever having trouble in the holidays and you start forgetting what you learnt, Summer Learning Journey is a  program for school students, and on top of that it is free, which makes it even cooler, here is a link to where the Summer Learning Journey is ➡ Summer Learning Journey

If you had the chance to do homework using Summer Learning Journey, would you? why/why not?

overall I thank you for taking your time reading my blog and have a good day

And always remember that Jesus loves you ❤‍🔥.

Math – Subtracting Decimals

WALT : Subtract Decimals

Talofa Lava

Yesterday for Maths, my class and I are now learning how to subtract decimals, the easier one was adding decimals , but my favourite one was subtracting decimals, it challenges me sometimes, and that is why I like it, before doing them, our teacher explained how to do them before we got to do the worksheet, but we ended up doing only like 2 questions, but I was sure if we had the chance to do the whole worksheet, I would have, but it was morning tea, but hopefully today I get to finish it and yeah.

Today I decided to make a DLO about subtracting decimals, because why not, the DLO shows you how to subtract decimals and it also shows some images on how to do it if your confused, but if you had the chance to learn about subtracting decimals, would you?

Bee Business Master – Reading Response

WALA : Bees

Kia Orana

This week for Reading we are now learning about Bees, as always we get given slides to finish and to study about, these slides took me a while to finish and I learnt many interesting facts about Bees and what they can do, and make, there were a total of 2 books we had to read about, and a video we had to watch, all of them were about bees, except one, one was a story, it was about a little kid selling lemonade, and the others were about bees, some slides I had to do, were writing facts we learnt about the video and stories, those parts are my favourite, I got to write about what I learnt, and memorise what I learnt, and other slides where we had to make an ad about bees, and there was one about filling in the missing letters of the words.

Some challenges I faced while doing this Reading Response was trying to remember facts and write ideas, but I overcame them by re-reading, and memorising properly, watching what bees could do made me want to do that too.

Some facts I learnt about bees is, the male bees are called drones, and the females are called worker bees, and of course there is always 1 queen in every bee hive. and yeah, I learnt many things. If you had the chance to work as a bee-keeper, would you?

Papyrus AI

Namaste

For our writing this week, we’ve been learning about Papyrus AI, it’s the same as every other AI, our task was to ask for feedback on our argument writing, the argument was still about whether school should be a 5 day week, or 4. Papyrus is a AI that could give you lots and lots of feedback on writing, and it could help you with your learning too, firstly we had to copy and paste our introduction and show Papyrus AI so that we could get our first feedback, we didn’t want to do our whole story because it would probably confuse Papyrus AI and it would be a lot to read.

After we showed Papyrus AI our introduction, Papyrus then gave us very good feedback, Papyrus even gave me some paragraphs to write, he also gave me suggestions, I then used those suggestions to change my introduction a bit, it was hard trying to do what it told me to do, because I couldn’t understand the big words Papyrus was saying, after I changed my story a bit, I showed Papyrus my new introduction, and he still gave me feedback and suggestions, but I wanted to see what he would say on my ending, I then copy and pasted my ending and showed Papyrus, again Papyrus gave me suggestions and feedback, I did as Papyrus said, and changed my story a little bit, it wasn’t the best but it was better then my own one.

Papyrus helped me a lot, my story became more better and I started using a lot more sesquipedalian words, the feedback also helped me a lot too, I kept in mind of what Papyrus had to say, so that i can use them in other stories I write, so that I don’t make the same mistake I did, I recommend Papyrus AI if you need help or anything, that has to do with your work, its really helpful. I’ve got some images of our conversation, would you have chatted with Papyrus?.

Math – Adding Decimals

WALT : Add Decimals

Assalamualaikum

Today for math, we’ve been learning about Adding Decimals, we just started today, our teacher gave us a worksheet to fill out, it was all about adding decimals, there were a total of 20 questions that we had to answer, and after we finished, our teacher told us to make a DLO about Adding Decimals, I used a Goggle Drawing to make my DLO, when I do a  DLO, I basically show my work, I won’t explain, just show, then I explain when I blog.

Things I kept in mind while I was creating the DLO and answering the questions, is to always keep the decimal point in line and straight, and to always carry a number if it has two numbers.

Some challenges I faced while doing this task was sometimes focusing, and maybe a little bit adding, but I overcame it by not getting distracted by my classmates, and just adding. Overall I just finished my DLO and I’ll show it. If you have any questions or suggestions about my work, tell me when you comment.

Kiwi-Can – T4

WALA : Respect

Halo

This term for Kiwi-Can we’ve been learning about Respect, and many other things, in Kiwi-Can we learn different types of greetings and countries, every term we get a new topic and theme, Respect means treating people, places, and things as important, there are also things called energiser and activities, they’re mini games we play during Kiwi-can, Kiwi-can is a group that teaches us good things and helps us to be good.

Fun fact about Kiwi-can is they’re only available in New Zealand. And yeah, our task was to fill out a drawing about Kiwi-Can and explain what our Kiwi-Can lesson told us today, in the Google drawing, was the greetings and countries, and energisers and activities.  every Friday we go to our school hall and start learning with Kiwi-Can, overall that was all we had to do about our Kiwi-can and here is my drawing ⬇.

Thank you, and I hope you have a good day

Math – Financial Literacy

WALT : Apply what we had been learning in Financial Literacy

Halo

This week for Math, we’ve been learning about Financial Literacy, firstly I got into a group of 2 with Sala, we both answered 5-6 questions, and played a game called Market Day, the game included 2 dices, and 2 coloured counters, one dice was a normal dice with the numbers 1 to 6 on it, and the other had the letters H J B around it, the main point about this game was saving money but also getting more money, I didn’t know how to exactly play the game so I skipped half of the offers to save my money, after playing and playing I noticed how Sala’s money was going up, and mine was going down, so I decided to sell stuff and buy stuff at the same time. And yeah after the game we decided to carry on with our Inquiry.

The challenges I faced while playing the game was trying to earn money, and save money, but I learnt in the end to sometimes spend and receive, one thing I’ll do the next time I play is learn how to play the game and save and earn money, overall that is all we did for Math, and hopefully next time I’ll play properly. I have no images or things that show the game, but maybe you can find it on Google, but we do have a spread a sheet of how much we earned ⬇

Thank you, and I hope you have a good day

And always remember that Jesus loves you 🔥.
